Northeasters Barbershop Chorus Leadership

Northeasters Barbershop Chorus thrives in part because of the commitment of the people in leadership. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:

Clyde Kreider, President

As a charter member, I am in my second term as president, just trying to give back to the organization that has given me so much.  I enjoy being assistant director and singing in the Northeast Spirit Quartet and formerly with the Sound of Satin Quartet.  May favorite "job" with the Northeasters Chorus has been coordinating the guest quartets for our annual shows.

Dan Biondo, Program & Performance V.P.

Dan joined the Northeasters in 1992.  He is actively singing in both Northeast Spirit and Basses Loaded quartets and he assists with chorus directing duties.  He established Dan's Repair Service in 1985 and is an avid classic car enthusiast.  Dan and Trish are the parents of three daughters and grandparents of five.

Leroy Spoor, Chapter Development V.P.

I enjoyed my career in Elementary Education.   I was Elementary Principal for 31 years with most of the time in the Wayne Highlands School District.  I’ve always been very active in the community and more so after I retired in 1993.  I enjoy barbershop singing and have been a member of the society for 27 years.  I’ve attended many International conventions.

Joe Murray, Treasurer

Joe spent 39 years in the banking business working his way up from teller to branch manager to CEO.  He was President and CEO of the Dime Bank from 1987 to 2001 and retired in 2004.  A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Joe was a member of the UND Band and served as its president in his senior year.  Joe has always been involved in the community: coach, Wayne Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, Communities That Care, Hospice, Habitat For Humanity.  He has been married to Patricia Connolly Murray for 49 years.  They have six children and 20 grandchildren.

Dick Bionda

Dick Bionda, Secretary

Was a Civil Engineer and Deputy Director of Construction for New York City Department of General Services for 33 years.  He retired in 1995 and moved to Hawley.  Dick has been with the Northeasters Barbershop Chorus since 1997.  He enjoys playing racquetball in the winter and tennis in the summer.

Carole and Dick will be married for 50 years in June of 2013. They are parents of three and grandparents of seven.
